Sandy was the founder of the Ottawa JR Riders. He could be found at home games on the sidelines at Minto Field field sitting with his wife Linda and his Cadillac SUV behind them.
Sandy was a football icon in the Ottawa community Sandy's belief and the foundation of our club was that the kids always came first - without them, there was no club. Sandy's passion and knowledge for the sport and success of his players was admired by many and continued to show through the years he dedicated.
The JR Riders continue to keep Sandy's legacy alive by handing out the Sandy Ruckstuhl award out. This award is a special award that is given not only to the best football players on the field, but also those that contribute just as much if not more off the field.
